Perception vs. Reality Empty
PostSubject: Perception vs. Reality   Perception vs. Reality EmptyFri May 22, 2020 5:01 pm

At final 8 with the likelihood of a battle back happening... I need to be careful on who I allow to make it too far in the game. I've dealt with so many issues in past games with the notion of perception vs. reality. How people are perceived is what ends up mattering the most when it comes to who wins the game even if it doesn't align exactly with reality.

Buffy, Aaron and DW are what I'd like to call above the radar players who are in the spotlight for various different reasons. But when you're in the spotlight, it leads to the belief in people's minds that they are threats to win. It's a total catch-22 type situation, because in my experience, the best chance you have is if you make it to the end while showing you can make moves when you are in the spotlight. But if you are in the spotlight, especially too early in the game, your chances of making it close to the end diminish every passing minute.

DW was cornered into a situation where she had to start to fight hard to survive, this is why she's a major threat to win. She is outspokenly against Buffy and Aaron and those two are considered public enemies #1 and 2. Because of that, DW is popular, and if she even sniffs the possibility of making it to the final 2, she will win. DW has to go relatively soon.

Buffy and Aaron are threats to win if they get close to the end because it'll look like they overcame "incredible odds" to get there. So they need to go soon too. I also, unfortunately, need to distance myself from those 2 to gain respect because if I allow the perception of me as being a wallflower who blindly follows people go on for too long, the less chance I have to win. In actuality, I'm building trust with a lot of people and trying my best for people in the game to view me as someone valuable for them to keep around.

Oftentimes in games, I screw up royally and I get trigger happy with challenge wins. I love to win challenges and I often show my cards early and it's always a uphill battle because I almost always choose to try to play an above the radar game and people target me a lot. This time around, I'm biding my time and waiting for the right moment to sucker punch the entire cast and sucker punch the entire status quo.

Not knowing who might return doesn't help, but for the sake of my reputation and the perception people probably have of me, I need to flip the switch and play an above the radar game sooner rather than later.

DW, Buffy and Aaron, all of them need to go soon.

I'm committed to trying to win this game. My lack of trying in the luxury challenge was a matter of me assessing the fact that I did not feel the ends justified the means. I need sleep. I have obligations in life outside of the confines of this game to deal with. I simply cannot post over and over again for the amount of time that would be required to make any kind of dent in having a chance to win it or to buy powers.

It's clear that both Buffy and Aaron have purchased some hardware. They got their hands on some serious merchandise from this challenge and they aren't really giving me the details about it. It's clear as hell they have stuff though. They can't be on for 30 straight hours and not come in 1st and 2nd place if they didn't purchase temptations.

I think they have the DPOV, an immunity necklace and a few other smaller advantages in their arsenal after this challenge. Their threat level is full to the MAX, in my opinion and it is absolutely ESSENTIAL these advantages are flushed out immediately.

People are going to need to put on their big boy pants and take big swings or they won't have a f*cking chance. I've been phoning it in during challenges and my effort has been at 50% for most of them. It's time to turn it on. I need to win HOH and I hope they feel like they can trust me enough to feel safe so an immunity isn't played on Buffy because I want to force the DPOV to be used.

What's ironic and crazy about all of this, is my demise in this game will likely come from people's perception that I'm in Buffy and Aaron's pocket. Sadly this is not the case. I hope I have a shot at staying to take my shot, but if I don't, it was a good ride.

Aaron is such a spineless, little idiot who doesn't make any god damn sense to me. If they want me out, I want them to be straight up about it. This feels so cheap to be taken out in such a bashful way. I want to be taken out by a full blown bullet in my head and want them to f'n own it.
