Quarantineville: The Secret Land of Change
Once upon a time,
there was a girl named Susie Carmichael. Five days of the week she goes to school full-time, and on weekends she works part-time in a market. Overwhelmed and praying for an opportunity to change her life for the better, she went into her bedroom and prayed. The following morning, as she was walking out of the front door to her house to head to school, she stumbled upon a frog. She was startled and ran as fast as she could to her old and dingy car. After a long day at school, she drove back home in very windy weather, and upon arrival she noticed that the frog was still there in front of the door. She yelled “WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?” The frog croaked. As the wind began to pick up in speed, leaves began flying in her direction, she put her hands in front of her face, and a paper flyer smacked against them. Susie grabbed it. She then began to read “QUARANTINEVILLE: A secret land of change. Looking for a lucky one to embark on a journey to win a life changing grand prize.” Enthusiastic about her discovery, Susie ran into her house and went up to her room. She went onto her computer and researched “Quarantineville” but nothing was found. Susie then ran back downstairs and looked out her window to see the frog still outside of her front door. She ran back up, and researched the significance of frogs. To her surprise, she learned that frogs are symbolic of change. It all began to make sense. Susie then read further along on the flyer and learned that in order to gain access into Quarantine land, she would need a special pair of golden shoes. Susie knew the exact place. She ran to her car and drove to the most well-known shoe store in town, “Heather’s shoe palace”. When she arrived at the store, she was greeted by a store clerk named Carter, and was asked what she wished to see, Susie replied “Looking for golden shoes”, to which Heather replied “Aisle three”. Susie eagerly searched the aisle up and down. Eventually she found the golden pair, but didn’t have the sufficient fare. She tried the golden shoes on, and in the blink of an eye, she was gone. She ran as fast as she could out of the store, and the cashier chased after her. She fled with all of her might, and unexpectedly her golden shoes made her take flight. She soared through the air, her shoes the navigation, taking her to Quarantine land, her new destination. Once she arrived to the secret land, she knew her life was bound to change and never felt so free. After Susie handed the flyer to the gatekeeper, Nottie Salton, she skipped through the gate entered Quarantineville oh so blissfully. She walked up to the large golden door at the front of the Quarantineville mansion and rang the bell a few times. She waited for 15 minutes, and no one would answer, tears began to fill her eyes. Susie walked down the steps with her head held down, feeling as though luck was not actually on her side. It was then she heard the golden door begin to open wide. She turned back and ran up the stairs, suddenly her heart warmed after feeling so cold. When she entered the Quarantineville mansion, she was in a room filled with gold. She cried tears of joy and ran around the mansion happily, knowing her struggles are now away, realizing that she now forever has a beautiful and peaceful place to stay.
The end.
