Noah and Gwen were going camping this weekend. They’ve worked their asses off competing on Total Drama World Tour and decided they need a break to relax and “get away from all these cameras”.
“How about the Adirondacks?” Suggested Gwen. And Noah agreed with her. They’ve heard about the area before. Filled with breathtaking views and many lakes, it was the perfect camping getaway location!
They rented a car and started driving on down. The ride was long but they managed to make it fun. Some carpool karaoke, some I-Spy games, just some ways to pass the time. They were enjoying the trip from start to finish.
Unfortunately for them, Gwen forgot to fill up the gas tank all the way at their last stop. “Uhh we’re running on fumes” she said. They turned off at the next exit, hoping to find a gas station to fill up their tired tank. Just as the car is about to stop, they find an old station just up ahead.
“I’ll go fill up a can!” said Noah “I’ll be right back!”. Noah went up the station, and got the gas they desperately needed. As he was about to pay, he asked the manager about the local points of interest. “We’re from out of town” he explained “anything we should see before we leave?”
The man chuckled and had a sly smile appear on his face. “Oh there’s plenty to see and do here young boy, you’ll see” said he, “just beware of the ghost tale that’s around the woods yonder here”.
Noah was intrigued and asked to know more. “Well you see boy, every 5 years, we have some campers vanish without a trace! Only to be found later with none of their possessions and no memory of prior events.”
“LOL” said Noah, “sounds like an old wise tale to me. I’m not scared of anything in these woods. Nothing can get to me”. He collected his purchase and returned to the car with Gwen impatiently waiting. He filled up the tank, closed the hatch, and off they were again.
An hour passes on the road, and Gwen and Noah finally arrive at the campsite. It’s a little secluded wooded area, surrounded by lush green grass, and colourful maple trees. The perfect place to set up camp they decided, and went to pitch their giant neon green tent.
Evening soon passed, and they started a fire. The kindling is crackling hot! Some hot dogs roasting on the open flames would be the perfect meal to end this gorgeous day. When all of a sudden “CRACK”
The snapping of a branch nearby. “What was that?” asked Noah suddenly all terrified. “Probably a squirrel” suggested Gwen “it’s nothing to worry about you see”. But little did they know, that’s not how it was going to be.
Suddenly, within a flash, all their belongings were gone! It happened in a mad dash! “Please don’t hurt us” Noah and Gwen cried! “We don’t want any trouble! Take anything you want!”
“Oh but I already have” said a sly, foxy voice. “Now remember this kids, you’ve been swiped!”
