Calling a holiday Indigenous Peoples Day instead of Columbus Day but not actually making any proactive changes is a slap in the face tbh and they should just scrap it altogether.

I agree with that sentiment. I think if we aren't going to actually do anything for Indigenous people on that day, we shouldn't just pretend we will in name.

yes! it's honestly so terrible from the time I've spent in the states. and I know I'm from London but it's not much better here either, growing up education was severely distorted when it came to history. You would think colonialism was a good thing if you took everything at face value
